Dinner

by Moira Buffini

directed by Carl Boardman

A dinner party is intricately arranged to celebrate the success of a bestselling philosopher author. His wife invites a politician, an artist, a newsreader and a scientist to an extraordinary meal. Games are played with uncomfortable results. However, a stranger in need of help finds his way through the thick fog outside and ends up sitting in the normally vacant "Jesus' chair", reserved for unexpected guests. Each course of this gastronomic feast is served by a silent waiter whose special services have been procured from the internet. All the ingredients are skilfully blended for a deliciously funny evening...

The knives are out in this brilliant and scathing black comedy! Buffini uses her razor sharp wit to take a stab at the indulgent and aspirational lives of people awash in a world of excess and ultimately obsessed with consumption.
